SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and agriculture, specifically to a dry mixed powder composition intended for making protective inserts used to treat fruit and vegetable products before their sale, before storing them or before transportation. Disclosed composition includes complex of 1-methylcyclopropene with α-cyclodextrin and additionally contains a potassium or sodium carbonate or hydrocarbonate and a calcium compound selected from calcium chloride, bromide, nitrate or hydroxide, where the weight ratio of potassium or sodium carbonate or hydrocarbonate to the calcium compound is 1:0.1–5.0, and content of 1-methylcyclopropene is in range of 0.1–0.5 wt.%, wherein the composition has particle dispersion of not more than 100 mcm.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the degree of release of 1-methylcyclopropene (up to 45%) from the powder preparation under conditions of storage of fruits and berries and, as a result, reduced consumption thereof.
