FIELD: temperature measurements; measurement of high temperatures of gas flows in nozzles of power plants and rocket engines. SUBSTANCE: method consists in exerting action on movable tape provided with heat-indicating coat by gas flow. tape with heat-indicating coat is moved in steady gas flow at a rate of 5 to 10 m/s. Structural changes in coat show distribution of temperature. Device for measuring temperature distribution in shock wave includes flat nozzle with slot and disk with tape secured on it. Disk is movably mounted on outer side of nozzle wall. Tape has coat fixing the thermal field. EFFECT: increased resolving power of temperature distribution measurement. 3 cl, 2 dwg
