FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining content of free proline in lateral buds of tubers of control and test kinds of potato upon termination of deep rest state of buds (end of March - beginning of April), with following estimating of early ripening indexes, which are determined by ratio of amino acid concentration of test samples and that of control samples with minimum content of proline. On the basis of obtained values, group and comparative early ripening of various sorts of potato are determined. EFFECT: increased efficiency by differentiated evaluation of potato early ripening factors. 1 tbl
