FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention aims at increasing uniformity of chilling hot-rolled steel plate in direction opposite rolling direction. Proposed method comprises using two or more types of nozzles that allow adjusting amount of sprayed water and spraying areas. Plate high quality and constant shape and expanded range of water amount adjustment are ensured by arranging the nozzles so that chilling water dynamic pressure raised to power n and averaged along direction of rolling between rolls varies from -20% of maximum value toward direction perpendicular to rolling where 0.05≤n≤0.2.
EFFECT: high quality and constant shape and expanded range of water amount adjustment.
