FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing 10,11-dihydro-10-hydroxy-5H-dibenz/b,f/azepine-5-carboxamide (1) by opening the 11a,10b-dihydro-6H-dibenz/b,f/ oxirene [a]azepine-6-carboxamide ring (5) via catalytic hydrogenation, characterised by that ring opening is carried out at high pressure. The invention also relates to a method of producing 10,11-dihydro-10-oxo-5H-dibenz/b,f/azepine-5-carboxamide (2), a method of producing compounds of formula 
and a method of producing 10-acetoxy-10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenz/b,f/azepine-5-carboxamide.
EFFECT: novel method of producing compound (1), characterised by high output and purity of compound (1), as well as reduction of amount of solvent required for the disclosed reaction.
