SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the agricultural machinery industry, in particular to the machines for feed production. The rotary mower comprises a cutting unit with rotating discs (2) with hinged blades (3) and vertically mounted drums (4) with beaters (5) in their upper part. Drums (4) are made in the form of cylindrical tubes, rigidly attached in the lower part to the discs (2) and are provided at the upper part with the beaters (5) in the form of segments of round-link chains. The chains are fixed in slots (6, 7) of the drums (4) in parallel and/or perpendicular to the blades (3) of the discs. The chain length does not exceed the distance between the slots and the disc blades. One of the end links of each chain is set in the slots (6, 7) and is fixed inside the drums (4) by spacer.

EFFECT: increase in service life of beater elements is ensured.
