FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a method for producing 4-(1-adamantyl)aniline, which is a starter compound for producing adamantane derivatives exhibiting various types of biological activity, as well as representing monomers in a process of synthesis of polymers with improved performance. The method consists in carrying out a reaction of 1-adamantol and acetanilide at 80°C for 3 hours in a trifluoroacetic acid medium taken as a solvent in molar ratio of 1-adamantol : acetanilide : trifluoroacetic acid = 1:1.2÷1.4:4÷8. A protective group is separated in the prepared product and neutralised with an alkali solution.
EFFECT: method enables performing the process selectively and preparing the product with 96% yield and containing 99,4% of the basic compound.
