FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding by coated electrode. Claimed process allows a constant rate of electrode fusion in time. Arc current density J in time t is adjusted in compliance with the formula , where β is the proportionality factor equal to β=(Af - A0)/teJ0, A0 is the initial magnitude of electrode fusion factor, Af is the final magnitude of electrode fusion factor, J0 is the initial current density at the electrode at arcing, te is the time of electrode complete consumption at current density J0 at the electrode.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of welding.
