FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: at least two electrode holders with electrodes are connected to the power supply pole. The welding current at the arc of power supply source is set from the condition of ensuring the melting rate at the end of melting of half the length of the coated electrode portion equal to the melting rate at the end of melting of the coated portion of the whole electrode. After melting, half of the length of the coated part of the first electrode is extinguished by an arc and continued to be welded with the next electrode until the half-length of its coated portion melts. After melting half of the length of each of the connected electrodes, the first electrode and the remaining coated electrodes are alternately resumed until the remaining parts are completely melted.
EFFECT: increase of the allowable arc current, which increases the penetration depth and welding efficiency.
