FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: after surgical treatment of respiratory organs tuberculosis in children and adolescents, pathohistological examinations of the operating material are carried out and the degree of inflammatory process activity, as well as the degree of the tuberculosis complex mycobacteria growth is determined. The presence of complications in the postoperative period, unavoidable adverse reactions to chemotherapy, the degree of residual changes in lungs and/or intrathoracic lymph nodes is also determined. At the level of surgical intervention, no more than two segments, absence of signs of inflammatory process activity or slight activity in the surgical material, absence of tuberculosis complex mycobacteria growth, absence of complications in the postoperative period, absence of adverse reactions to chemotherapy, absence or minor residual changes in lungs and/or intrathoracic lymph nodes, chemotherapy duration of three months is prescribed. With the same indicators, but with at least two additional indicators concerning the volume of surgical intervention either more than two segments, or combined resections, or intrathoracic lymph nodes removal, or pleurectomy, moderate or pronounced activity of the inflammatory process, detected growth of tuberculosis complex mycobacteria, development of complications in the postoperative period and development of adverse reactions to chemotherapy, chemotherapy duration of six months is prescribed.
EFFECT: reduced number of disease relapses and exclusion of unreasonably long courses of chemotherapy in children and adolescents.
