FIELD: biotechnology; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and medicine, particularly to methods for stimulating differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into insulin-producing cells. Invention provides a method for producing a population of cells expressing markers specific for a pancreatic endoderm line, wherein more than 80% of cells in the population simultaneously express PDX1 and NKX6.1, as well as the population itself.
EFFECT: invention represents an alternative approach to increasing the efficiency of differentiation of human embryonic stem cells into insulin-expressing cells.
