FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, neurology and radiation diagnostics, and can be used for diagnosing multiple sclerosis. Optical coherence tomography of peripapillary region of optic disc and macular area of retina of both eyes is performed within the framework of complex neuro-ophthalmological examination. Computer image of the choroid passing through the foveolar is selected. In the central part of the image of the choroid, a segment of width 1500 mcm is selected, centered relative to the foveola position. Image is preliminary processed by a computer program for quantitative treatment of the state of choroid vessels on computer images of optical coherent tomography of the eye ground. Previously specified area is used to determine the choroidal thickness (CT) of the choroid, as well as the proportion of blood vessel lumens in the choroid (PBVLC). where P is the choroidal index of multiple sclerosis. If P> 0.575 even in one eye, multiple sclerosis is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy and reliability of diagnosing multiple sclerosis due to highly sensitive and specific marker, such as parameters of choroid: CT and PBVLC, processed by mathematical model.
