SUBSTANCE: disclosed are systems and methods for improving fuel injection in an engine comprising a cylinder receiving fuel from two different fuel injectors, a direct injection injector and a distributed injector. In one example, the transfer function or gain is controlled by the value of lambda of exhaust gases and by the first of two pulse durations supplied to the injector of the cylinder during its operating cycle.
EFFECT: invention improves formation of fuel-air mixture in engine and reduces toxicity of engine.
