FIELD: optical fibers.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed optical fiber comprises glass fiber and a glass coating covering glass fiber, wherein the resin coating comprises a base resin layer and an auxiliary resin layer and the resin base layer comprises a cured resin composition obtained by curing the resin composition, containing an oligomer, a monomer and a photopolymerization initiator, the oligomer being a reaction product of a polyol compound, an isocyanate compound and a (meth)acrylate compound containing hydroxyl groups; proportion of primary hydroxyl groups in the hydroxyl groups present in the polyol compound is 3.5 % or less, and Young's modulus of the auxiliary resin layer at −40 °C is greater than or equal to 1780 MPa.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of obtaining optical fibers with excellent low-temperature properties.
