FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, in particular to ophthalmology. Software of RTVue XR Avanti (Optovue Inc., USA) is used according to "HD Angio Disk" protocol with scanning area of 4.5*4.5 mm, ratio of area occupied by capillaries to entire area of peripapillary retina is determined. If the average area of the capillaries is less than 50 % of the entire peripapillary retina, area of capillaries in a temporal quadrant - less than 50 % of the area of the given quadrant, area of capillaries in nasal quadrant - less than 49 % of area of given quadrant, area of capillaries in upper quadrant - less than 50 % of area of said quadrant, area of capillaries in lower quadrant - less than 53 % of area of said quadrant, microcirculatory changes of peripapillary retina in middle and advanced age patients are diagnosed by SDOCT-angiography.

EFFECT: method enables early and reliable diagnosis of microcirculatory changes of peripapillary retina in middle and advanced age by SDOCT-angiography by creating reference values for peripapillary retina parameters.
