SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the steering system of a vehicle. The system includes a first steering device with the "wheel-tire" node, a second steering device with the "wheel-tire" node, and a controller. The controller is designed to control the first taxiing device with the "wheel-tire" node and the second taxiing device with the "wheel-tire" node in such a way that the taxiing position of each of the right "wheel-tire" node and the left "wheel-tire" node coincides with the target taxiing position. The controller is designed to perform, when the turn index indicating the severity of the turn exceeds a set threshold value, the process of changing the steering position to change the steering position of one of the right wheel-tire nodes and left wheel-tire nodes in such a way that the vehicle's turnability characteristics have a stronger tendency to understeer compared to the case in which the turn index does not exceed a set threshold value.
EFFECT: invention provides increased stability when turning.
