FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, medicine, namely, clinical laboratory diagnostics, and can be proposed as a method for diagnosing male infertility of an unidentified genesis. The method consists in the fact that in the cells of the mobile ejaculate fraction of patients with idiopathic infertility and asthenozoospermia, the double nucleotide polymorphism of the antimicrobial peptide DEFB126 (rs11468374) gene and the level of expression of the gene thereof are determined using a polymerase chain reaction in real time.
EFFECT: detection of a mutation in the homozygous state and reduction in the expression by at least 3.4 times compared with the level of expression established in healthy men with normozoospermia provides a possibility of specifying the cause of male reproductive dysfunction, increasing the accuracy of diagnostics of idiopathic infertility.
