FIELD: ultrasound.
SUBSTANCE: use for conversion of ultrasonic vibrations. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that an ultrasonic converter comprises an element based on a capacitive microprocessed ultrasonic transducer, CMUT, element based on an electroactive polymer, EAP, comprising an electroactive polymer material, wherein the EAP element is connected to the surface of the CMUT element and at least partially covers it, and a controller configured to control the ultrasonic device for generating ultrasonic vibrations by driving as a CMUT element, and an element based on an electroactive polymer for simultaneous oscillations, by supplying to each of them an exciting signal with the same frequency of alternating current.
EFFECT: reduced acoustic attenuation and impedance mismatch while maintaining protective functionality of the acoustic window.
