FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to occupational pathology, pulmonology, immunology, and can be used for differential diagnosis of bronchial asthma of occupational and non-occupational origin, formed under in settings of the effect of toxic industrial aerosols in workers of the aluminium industry. The concentration of immunoglobulin E, interleukin-1β is determined in the blood serum of a worker diagnosed with bronchial asthma by means of sandwich-type solid-phase enzyme immuno assay, followed by calculating the diagnostic coefficients F1 and F2 by the formulas: F1=-4.46+0.019·A1+0.07·A2 and F2=-5.8+0.007·A1+0.98·A2, wherein F1 is the diagnostic coefficient, F2 is the diagnostic coefficient, -4.46 and -5.8 are constants, 0.019; 0.07; 0.007; 0.98 are discriminatory coefficients; A1-2 are grades and numerical values of the indicators of the performed test: A1 is the level of immunoglobulin E, pg/ml; A2 is the content of interleukin-1β, pg/ml. If F1 is less than F2, a conclusion is made that occupational bronchial asthma is present, and is F1 is greater than F2, bronchial asthma of non-occupational origin is diagnosed.

EFFECT: possibility of differentiate the presence of occupational and non-occupational bronchial asthma in patients, reduction in the labour intensity of the test, applicability of the method both in the hospital and in mass screening of workers, provided by determining immunoglobulin E and interleukin-1β in the blood serum of workers diagnosed with bronchial asthma, followed by calculating the diagnostic coefficients, continuing by comparing said coefficients and issuing a conclusion with the final diagnosis.
