FIELD: multicomponent coatings application.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of application of multicomponent coatings for cutting tools from vacuum-arc discharge plasma. The method for obtaining a wear-resistant coating for a cutting tool 2 from a multicomponent Al-Nb-Ti-V-Zr alloy by vacuum-plasma synthesis is that the synthesis of a wear-resistant coating is carried out by a magnetic-arc filtration system 5 from a vacuum-arc discharge plasma burning in material vapors multicomponent cathode 4, obtained by electrospark sintering from commercially pure powders of these metals while carrying out the process of plasma assisting by a non-self-sustained high-current diffusion discharge generated by a plasma source 6.
EFFECT: obtaining surface layers with increased operational and physical and mechanical properties.
