FIELD: electrophoresis medical devices.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of performing an enzymatic reaction using electrophoresis, a method of obtaining a library of labeled nucleic acid fragments from a target double-stranded nucleic acid, an electrophoresis device and a system for obtaining a library of labeled nucleic acid fragments from a target double-stranded nucleic acid. The electrophoresis system comprises an electrophoresis gel matrix having first and second ends and a length between the first and second ends. At the first and second ends, respectively, there is a pair of positive and negative electrodes. The first site near the first end contains the first cofactor of the enzyme. The second site near the second end contains the second cofactor of the enzyme. The second enzyme cofactor has an electrical charge opposite to the electrical charge of the first enzyme cofactor. The reaction site between the first site and the second site contains the enzyme. The application of an electric field between a pair of electrodes causes the molecules to migrate through the electrophoresis gel matrix to obtain the desired product.
EFFECT: reduction of the risk of physical damage to nucleic acids.
