FIELD: driving control device.
SUBSTANCE: driving control device comprises a control unit (18) and an ahead vehicle detection unit (11). The control unit (18) is configured to control the operation of the involved vehicle (10) using two autonomous driving modes, including the first mode and the second mode, in which the level of driving assistance is higher than that of the first mode. The detection unit (11) is configured to detect a vehicle (21) in front moving in front of the activated vehicle. The control unit (18) is configured to switch the autonomous driving mode from the first mode to the second mode, when the operation of the vehicle involved is controlled using the first mode, and the ahead vehicle detection unit detects the vehicle in front.
EFFECT: improved safety and reliability of changing driving assistance levels.
