FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for detecting an analyte in a sample. Method involves mixing a sample with a suspension of nanoparticles conjugated with an anti-analyte antibody and a signal-producing enzyme, contacting the obtained mixture with the surface of a solid phase carrying analyte molecules or a molecular analogue thereof, removal of unbound nanoparticles, contact and incubation with surface of solid phase of substrate of signal-producing enzyme, registration of the detected signal from the product converted from the substrate by the enzyme as a measure of the analyte content in the sample. Said nanoparticles are carbon quantum dots.
EFFECT: invention provides an enzyme immunoassay based on the use of an accessible, stable enzyme nanolabel which does not contain heavy metals.
